Keep original bevel (A) when grinding.

Blade should have 0.40 mm (1/64 in.) cutting edge (B) or less.

Balance blades before installing.

Replacing Mower Spindle Bearings

1.Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the Safety section.)

2.Remove mower deck drive and spindle drive belt.

3.Remove mower blade.

4.Remove upper pulleys:

Side Spindles: Remove nut (A), spacer (B) and pulley (C).

Center Spindle: Remove nut (D), drive pulley (E) and spindle pulley (F).

5.Remove spindle shaft (G), lower bearing (H) and spacer

(I) from spindle housing (J). Discard bearing.

6.Remove and discard upper bearing (K).

7.Clean entire assembly.

8.Install a new lower bearing (H) and spacer (I) on the spindle shaft (G).

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! The clearance between the lower bearing and the housing is only 0.05 mm (0.002 in.). Do not force bearing into housing.

9.Install the spindle shaft (G), lower bearing (H) and spacer (I) into the spindle housing (J).

10.Install the upper bearing (K).
