BATTERY

The seated battery is located within the engine compartment beneath the fuel tank. With care this, will last for many years.

WARNING: PREVENT ACCIDENTS - Take care to ensure that metal objects are prevented from coming into contact with the battery terminals and bodywork.

Ensure that the screw down terminal connectors are tightly secured. Loose fittings may cause sparking. Regularly clean the terminals and coat with petroleum jelly.

Check that the battery terminals are correctly located - Black neutral (-) and Red positive (+). The battery should be periodically charged throughout the winter.

SPARK PLUG

Refer to the engine manufacturers handbook.

HEADLIGHTS

To replace a headlight bulb proceed as follows:

-Lift the engine cover, locate and remove the bulb holder by rotating anti-clockwise. Take care to prevent damage to the reflector.

-Remove the bulb from the holder by rotating it anti-clockwise until it is released.

-Fit a replacement bulb by reversing the steps described above.

ELECTRICAL

There is a single 15 amp fuse located beneath the fuel tank. This can be accessed by removing the small panel in the centre of the footwell.

Check the fuse after removing it from the holder. The small metal strip inside the fuse should be intact.

If the fuse has blown, check for a short circuit or a faulty electrical compo- nent.

Check:-

- That the wires to the rear electric clutch are secure and undamaged.

-That the seat switch wires are secured and undamaged.

-That the brake micro switch wires are secure and undamaged.
