4Click on the Advanced button.

5Select the Encryption tab.

6Change the current Encryption setting from the default "No encryption" to 40-bit or 128-bit or 40-bit.

7Select Shared Keys.

8Click OK in the Advanced Properties window to save changes.

9Click OK to exit the 3Com AirConnect WLAN Easy Setup window.

10Click OK to exit the Network window.

11Reboot the system.

Encryption Upgrade If you are upgrading your wireless client from 40-bit encryption to 128-bit Access Codes encryption, you must enter an access code to perform the upgrade. Until the

access code is entered, you can only enable or disable 40-bit encryption.

This procedure is not required for U.S. products.

Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me

1Click the Network Neighborhood icon and open the Properties screen.

2Click the Configuration tab.

3Select (highlight) the AirConnect PC Card entry.

4Click the Properties button. The LAN Adapter Setup screen appears.

5Click the Advanced button. The Advanced Properties screen appears.

6Click the Encryption tab.

7Select the 128-bit encryption algorithm.

8A pop-up screen appears, prompting you to enter an access code.

9Enter the access code, then click OK.

10Reboot the system.

Windows 2000

The procedure to enter access codes under Windows 2000 is identical to the one above, except that in step 1, the screen to be opened is the Adapters screen.

Windows NT 4.0

1Click the My Network Places icon.

2Click the Local Area Connections icon to open the Local Area Connections screen.

3Click the Configuration tab, and then click the Settings tab.

4Click the Advanced button.

5Click the Encryption tab.

6Select the 128-bit encryption algorithm.
