Upgrade the firmware.
1With the Installation CD or diskette still inserted into the PC, select Start >
Programs > 3Com AirConnect > AirConnect Firmware Upgrade Utility.
2Make sure that the AirConnect PC Card is inserted in the PC.
3Click the button to the right of the field labeled Firmware Filename, then go to the
Firmware > MU directory on the Installation CD or diskette.
4In the Firmware\MU directory, select the upgrade file: 3compc.img
5Click Update to begin the upgrade.
6When prompted, reboot the system.

Upgrade Procedure Remove the old driver.
1Log on as Administrator.
2In the Control Panel, select Network.
3In the Network window, select the Adapters tab.
4Select the AirConnect card, then select Remove.
5Close the Network window.
6Reboot the system.
Install the new driver.
1In the Control Panel, select Network.
2In the Network window, click the Adapters tab.
3In the Adapters window, select Add.
4Click the Have Disk button.
5Insert the Installation CD or 3.5" diskette into the PC.
6Type the drive letter in the entry field, then click OK.
7When prompted, select the AirConnect PC Card entry.
8When prompted, enter the WLAN Service Area ID.
9To leave the Network window, click Close.
10 If TCP/IP is installed, you may be prompted to enter additional information
appropriate to your network.
Upgrade the 3Com Launcher.
1Insert the Installation CD or 3.5" diskette.
2If the CD or diskette does not Autorun, go to Start > Run, enter
<drive>:\setup.exe, then click OK.
3Select Installation for Windows.
4Select Install WLAN Applications.
5Follow the instructions on the screen.
