Troubleshooting With the Activity LEDs

There may be situations where a port's Activity LED may not light. Use the troubleshooting suggestions in Table 4-2 to help isolate why this has occurred.

Table 4-2. Troubleshooting With the Port Activity LEDs

Activity	Off	There is no traffic	None.

		The port is disabled	Check the port enable dip
			switch setting.
		The power is off	Check the Controller
			Module Power LEDs.
		The Activity LED has	Press the LED/Channel
		burnt out	Check button on the
			Controller Module.
		The 10BASE-T	Connect the cable to a
		Module port is	different port.
		faulty
		The module	Reinsert the 10BASE-T
		connection to the	Module. If this fails, try
