Static Routes/Private
Write security: 4; Read security: 5
When set to No, the Express XL/XLT will advertise this static route using RIP. Otherwise, setting to Yes means that the route is kept private.
IP/IP Router
The IP router is configured under this menu as follows.
IP Router/Mode
Write security: 3; Read security: 5
When this option is set to On (def), the Express XL/XLT will advertise and lis- ten to routes from other IP routers. If Off, the route table is still used but only static routes are used for routing IP packets and only the Ethernet port is used. IP packets can be sent over the WAN, but only when bridged.
IP/RIP
Write security: 3; Read security: 5
The Routing Information Protocol (RIP) is supported by the Express XL/XLT. The following parameters are required for setting up the mode on the Ethernet port:
RIP/Mode
Write security: 3; Read security: 5
This option turns RIP On (def) or Off
RIP/Protocol
Write security: 3; Read security: 5
Version can be V1 (def) or V2
