AllowingWirelessClientsAccesstoYourNetworkIfyournetworkispassword-protectedusingWPAPersonalorWPA/WPA2Personal,you
canprovidewirelessclientsaccesstoyournetworkwithoutrequiringthemtoenterthe
networkpassword.
Whenyouallowaclientaccesstoyournetwork,theclient’snameandwirelessMAC
address(orAirPortID)arestoredintheaccesscontrollistofAirPortUtilityuntilyou
removethemfromthelist.Youcanalsoprovide24hoursofaccess,afterwhichtime
theclientisnolongerabletoaccessyournetwork.
Whenyouprovideaclientaccesstoyourwirelessnetwork,theclientdoesnotneedto
enterthenetworkpassword.
To allow client access to your network:
1 OpenAirPortUtility,selectyourbasestation,andchooseManualSetupfromthe
BaseStationmenu.Enterthebasestationpasswordifnecessary.
2 ChooseAddWirelessClientsfromtheBaseStationmenu.
3 Selecthowyouwanttheclienttoaccessthenetwork:
ÂSelectPINtoentertheeight-digitnumberprovidedbytheclientrequesting
networkaccess.
ÂSelect“Firstattempt”toallownetworkaccesstotherstclientattemptingtojoin
thenetwork.
ÂSelect“Limitclient’saccessto24hours”ifyouwanttoprovideonlyonedayofaccess
toyournetwork.Ifyoudon’tselectthisoption,theclienthasaccesstoyournetwork
untilyouremovethenamefromthelist.
