Troubleshooting
System does
not answer after
correct number
of rings.
• Make sure that the answering system is on (page 55).
• If toll saver is activated, the number of rings changes to
two when you have new messages stored (page 59).
• If the memory is full or the system is off, the system will
answer after 10 rings.
System
announces “Time
and day not set.”
• You need to reset the answering system clock (see
pages 53-54).
System does
not receive
caller ID when
on a call.
• Make sure you subscribe to caller ID with call waiting
features provided by your local telephone company.
Caller ID features will work only if both you and the
caller are in areas offering caller ID service, and if both
telephone companies use compatible equipment.
Appendix D
If you subscribe to high-speed Internet service (digital
subscriber line - DSL) through your telephone lines, you
must install a DSL filter between the telephone base
and the telephone wall jack (page 6). The filter prevents
noise and caller ID problems caused by DSL interference.
Please contact your DSL service provider for more
information about DSL filters.
