GADF (Automatic Document Feeder) The original document can
be placed in the ADF and scanned on e page at a time
automatically.
Auto Dial List A listing of names and numbers stored in One-Touc h
and Speed-Dial memory, in numer ical order.
Automatic fax transmission Sending a fax without pi cking up the
handset of the MFC (or pressing Hook /Hold).
Automatic Redial A feature that enables you r MFC to redial the last
fax number if the fax did not g o through because the line was
busy.
Auto Reduction Reduces the size of incoming faxes.
Batch Transmission As a cost savings feature, all delayed faxes to
the same fax number will be se nt as one transmission.
Beeper The sound the keys make when they are pressed, an error
occurs, or a fax has been receiv ed or sent.
Beeper volume Volume setting for the beep when you press a k ey
or make an error.
Broadcasting The ability to send the same fax message to more
than one location.
Caller ID A subscriber service purchased from the telephone
company that lets you see the number (or name) of the party
calling you. Your MFC stores the latest callers so you can print a
Log and view caller informa tion.
Call Waiting A subscriber service from the telephone company
that lets you answer a second call without disconnecting the
first caller.
CNG tones The special tones (beeps) sent by fax machines duri ng
automatic transmission t o tell the receiving machi ne that they are
from a fax machine.
Communication error (or Comm. Error) An error during fax
sending or receiving, usually caused by line noise or static.
