Satin stitchingA decorative stitch can be sewn by changing the
stitch width of a satin stitch. If the sewing machine is
set so that the stitch width can be adjusted using the
sewing speed controller, the stitch width can quickly
and easily be adjusted. In this case, the sewing speed
is adjusted with the foot controller.
aConnect the foot controller.

bAttach zigzag foot "J".

foot" (page 38).
cTurn on the sewing machine, and then press
(Settings key) in the operation panel.
XThe settings screen appears.
dPress (Next page key) until "WIDTH
CONTROL" is on LCD screen, and the press
ON for stitch width control setting.
XThe machine is now set so that the stitch
width can be controlled with the sewing
speed controller.
ePress (Back key).
XThe initial screen appears again.
fSelect stitch 60 .

gWhile sewing, slide the sewing speed
controller to adjust the stitch width.
Slide the controller to the left to make the width
narrower. Slide the controller to the right to
make the width wider.
• Adjust the sewing speed with the foot
controller.
hWhen you are finished sewing, set the stitch
width control setting back to OFF.
Memo
zAlthough the stitching result differs
depending on the type of fabric being sewn
and the thickness of the thread being used,
for best results, adjust the stitch length to
between 0.3 and 0.5 mm (1/64 and 1/32
inch).
