Sewing Cylindrical Pieces
Free-arm sewing makes sewing cylindrical pieces easy.

Free-arm sewing

Removing the flap allows for free-arm sewing,
making it easier to sew cylindrical pieces such as
sleeve cuffs and pant legs.
aSlide the flap off to the left.
XWith the flap removed, free-arm sewing is
possible.
bPull the sliding leg (at the bottom of the
machine) out toward you.

• During free-arm sewing, be sure to pull out
the sliding leg.
cSlide the part that you wish to sew onto the
arm, and then sew from the top.
dWhen you are finished with free-arm sewing,
push the sliding leg back into position.
eThen, install the flap back to its original
position.
