CAUTION

When using zipper foot “I”, be sure to select the straight stitch (center needle position), and slowly turn the handwheel toward you (counterclockwise) to check that the needle does not touch the presser foot. If a different stitch is selected or the needle hits the presser foot, the needle may bend or break.

hSew the zipper to the piece of fabric with the extra 3 mm (1/8 inch), starting from the base of the zipper.

CAUTION

When sewing, be sure that the needle

jClose the zipper, turn over the fabric, and then baste the other side of the zipper to the fabric.

kAttach the presser foot holder to the other pin of zipper foot “I”.

If the presser foot holder was attached to the right pin in step f, change it to the left pin.

Sew reverse stitches at the end of the zipper opening and align the zipper teeth with the side of the presser foot.

iWhen you are about 5 cm (2 inches) from the end of the zipper, stop the sewing machine with the needle lowered (in the fabric), raise the presser foot lever, and then open the zipper and continue sewing.
