If you are having difficulty sending or receiving a fax due to possible

interference on the phon e line, we recommend that you adjust the

Equalization for compatibility. The machine adjusts the modem

speed for fax operations.

Press Menu/Set, 2, 0, 2.

Press ▲ or ▼ to select Basic, (or

Normal).

Press Menu/Set.

Press Stop/Exit.

For FAX-1940CN, MFC-3240C and MFC-3340CN, you can

select High to return to 33600 bps.

■Basic reduces the modem s peed to 9600 bps. U nless there

is a lot of interfere nce on your phone line , you may prefer to

use it only when needed.

■Normal sets the modem speed a t 14400 bps.
