Answering calls with the Sp eaker Phone (FAX-1940CN only)
When the machine rings, ins tead of lifting the handset, press
Speaker Phone. Speak clearly, toward the mi crophone . To end
the call, press Speaker Phone.
If you have a bad telephone line connection, the other party might
hear your voice echoed during the call. Hang up and try the call
again—OR—Pick up the handset.
Tel (Except for FAX-1940CN )
This key is used to enter into a conversation after having picked up
the handset of an external telephone in F/T pseudo-ringing.
Also, if you press Tel when you are talking lifting the external
telephones handset with the other end, you can hear the other end
from the machine’s monitor speaker, but the other end cannot hea r
you.
Mute (FAX-1840C and FAX -1940CN only)

Press Mute to put a call on Hold.

You can replace the handset without disconnecting the call.
Pick up the machine handset or pr ess Speaker Phone
(FAX-1940CN only) to rel ease the call from Hold. Pi cking up an
extension handset will not release the call from Hold.
