When you are using a TAD, the LCD show s Telephone
(FAX-1835C, MFC-3240C and MFC -3340CN only) or Ext. Tel in
Use (FAX-1840C and FAX-194 0CN only).
Connections
The external TAD must be conne cted as shown above.

Set your external TAD to one or two rings. (The machine’s Ring
Delay setting does not appl y.)

Record the outgoing message on your external TAD.

Set the TAD to answer calls.

For FAX-1940CN, set the Receive Mode to Manual.

For FAX-1835CN, FAX-1840C, MFC-3240C and MFC-3340CN,
set the Receive Mode to External TAD.
(See Choosing the Receive Mode on page 4-1.)
Do not connect a TAD elsewhere on the same phone line.
