Cleaning and Replacing the Filter
Filtration
Filtration is one of the most important steps you can take to ensure clean, clear water. Regardless of what some people may think, it is far less expensive to fix water clarity problems by filtering your spa than by using excessive amounts of chemicals, excessive filtration times, or by water replacement.

Filter Cleaning
Your new Cal Spa has been designed for quick and easy filter maintenance. The filter cartridge should be cleaned once a week. These instructions apply to both dual and single filtration systems (Figure 19).

1.Turn the power off at the breaker.
2.Remove the filter(s) cover (if applicable) by rotating the cover counterclockwise and lifting it off..
3.Remove the filter(s) basket. With some types you may need to align the flat areas on the filter basket and the canister.
4.Remove the filter(s) by pulling up and out.
5.Clean the filter with a garden hose as follows:
