Connecting the camera to a TV set is recommended to playback movies (p.184-185).

Shooting with Autoexposure

When the shooting mode is set to a shooting mode other than <a>, autoexposure control will take effect to fit the scene current brightness. Autoexposure control will be the same for all shooting modes.

1Set the Live View shooting/Movie shooting switch to <k>.

X The reflex mirror will make a sound, then the image will appear on the LCD monitor.

2 Focus the subject.

Before shooting a movie, autofocus or manual focus (p.142-149). When you press the shutter button halfway, the camera will focus with the current AF mode.

3 Shoot the movie.

Press the <0> button to start

shooting the movie. To stop shooting the movie, press the <0> button again.

X While the movie is being shot, the “o” mark will be displayed on the upper right of the screen.

During movie shooting, do not point the lens toward the sun. The sun’s heat can damage the camera’s internal components.

If you use an EX-series Speedlite (sold separately) equipped with an LED light, note that the LED light will not turn on automatically during movie shooting.
