MENU Simultaneous Capture in RAW and JPEG Formats

In the <> image-recording quality mode, you can capture the an image in both the RAW and JPEG formats simultaneously. This is convenient when you want both RAW and JPEG versions of the same image. The RAW image can undergo optimal processing, while the JPEG image enables you to use the image as is without any processing.

Select RAW on the rear LCD panel.

While pressing the <> button, turn the <>

dial to select < > displayed on the rear LCD

panel. Then let go of the <> button.

On the LCD monitor menu, select “RAW+JPEG rec.”

Press the <> button.

While pressing the <> button, turn the <> dial to select <>.

While pressing the <> button, turn the <> dial to select “RAW+JPEG rec.” Then let go of the

<> button.

Select the JPEG image quality.

3 While pressing the <> button, turn the <> dial to select the desired JPEG image quality. Then

let go of the <> button. s The menu will reappear.

When you take a picture, it will be recorded in both the RAW and JPEG formats simultaneously.

To stop recording the image in both formats, select

only” on the LCD monitor menu.

When the image is recorded in both the RAW and JPEG formats, the <> icon will not be displayed in the viewfinder. The rear LCD panel will also not display the

JPEG image quality (<>, <> or <>).

The RAW and JPEG images captured simultaneously will have the same image file number but a different extension. The JPEG image will have the .JPG extension and the RAW image will have .TIF.

The <>, <> or <> image-recording quality selection with the proce- dure explained on the preceding page will remain in effect even during the simultaneous RAW and JPEG image capture.
