Shooting Mode

You can freely select camera settings such as the shutter speed and aperture value to suit your shooting purposes. After settings are made, shooting procedures are the same as for “ Shooting (Auto Mode)” (Basic Guide p. 11).

zFor information on the relation between the aperture value and shutter speed see p. 65.

zPlease note that camera shake becomes a factor at low

shutter speeds and with larger aperture values. If (camera shake warning) appears in the LCD monitor (or viewfinder), try the following steps to resolve the problem.

-Use the (image stabilizer) function.

-Raise the ISO speed.

-Set the Auto ISO Shift to [On] (p. 81).

-Raise the flash to fire.

-Use a tripod.

Program AE

Shooting Mode

Use the program AE mode to have the camera automatically set the shutter speed and aperture value to match the brightness of the scene.

zWhen a correct exposure cannot be obtained, the shutter speed and aperture values are shown in red on the LCD monitor when the button is pressed halfway. Use the following shooting methods to obtain the correct exposure and make them show in white.

-Use the flash (raise the flash).

-Adjust the ISO Speed.

-Set the Auto ISO Shift to [On] (p. 81).
