zYou are recommended to use a memory card that has been formatted in your camera to shoot movies (p. 37). The card supplied with the camera may be used without further formatting.

zBe careful of the following while recording.

-Try not to touch the microphone (Basic Guide p. 1).

-If you press any buttons other than the Movie button, the sound that the buttons make when pressed will be recorded in the movie.

-The camera will automatically adjust the exposure and white balance to suit the shooting conditions during a recording. Please note, however, that the sounds made by the camera while automatically adjusting the exposure may also be recorded.

zImages of recorded with this camera may not play back properly on other cameras.

zEven if you shoot movies with the recording pixels for still

images set to , the aspect ratio of the recorded movie will be the usual 4:3 screen.

zDo not point the camera at the sun when shooting.

zWhen you press the MF button, AF lock is set at the current

focus condition. displays on the LCD monitor (or viewfinder).

zYou can set the AE lock (p. 84) and exposure shift while

shooting movies (you can also set them before shooting when the mode dial is set to ).

1.Press the ISO button.

The exposure will lock (AE lock) and the exposure shift bar will appear in the LCD monitor (or viewfinder).

2.Use the W or X button to adjust the exposure.

Press the ISO button again to release the setting. Also, the setting will be canceled if you press the MENU button or change the white balance, My Colors, or shooting mode settings.
