used tires are dangerous.
Overloading your tires can cause
overheating as a result of too much
flexing. You could have an air-out and
a serious accident. See Loading the
Vehicle on page 4-21.

Underinflated tires pose the
samedanger as overloaded tires. The
resultingaccident could cause serious
injury.Check all tires frequently to
maintainthe recommended pressure.
Tirepressure should be checked when
yourtires are cold. See Inflation - Tire
Pressureon page 5-60.
Overinflatedtires are more likely to
becut, punctured, or broken by a
suddenimpact — such as when
youhit a pothole. Keep tires at the
recommendedpressure.
Worn,old tires can cause accidents. If
yourtread is badly worn, or if your tires
havebeen damaged, replace them.
