Chapter 4 Maintaining the Battery
4Insert a new battery into the battery compartment. Do not force the battery into the compartment, but be sure to press the battery all the way in until it seats fully.
5Close the battery compartment door. The battery lock will automatically re- engage.
Important: Dispose of the battery in accordance with local regulations and instructions from your service provider.
Using the Cable Modem Without a Battery
If you want, you can use the cable modem without a battery. If you need to remove the battery, follow the procedures found in Removing and Replacing the Battery (on page 29).
Important: If you choose to operate your cable modem without a battery, you risk losing your telephone service during a power outage.
