Details
The fault report contacts are closed when the card detects an internal failure or a power loss condition. The fault report contacts are closed for about 2 milliseconds every 16 ms to report any error for which SMPTE fault reporting has been enabled.
Some internal failures may include:
•Hardware failure of any card or power supply.
•Loss of AC power to any power supply
•“Soft” errors from any card setup to detect and report such errors
