If your memory card has a write protec- tion switch, make sure that the switch is set to the “Unlock” position.
Installing Batteries
The camcorder uses a rechargeable battery for operation.
1.Remove the battery compartment cover by sliding it down toward the base of the camera.
2.Load the included rechargeable battery into the compartment. Make sure that the gold contacts of the battery and compartment touch each other. The text printed on the battery should face up.
3.Replace the battery compartment cover and slide it up into place.
The battery used in this device may present a fire or chemical burn if mis- treated. Do not connect improperly. Do not dispose of in fire or expose to ex- cess heat. Do not crush, puncture, or incinerate. Do not short circuit external contacts. Used batteries should be dis- posed of safely. Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Turning the Camcorder On and Off
To turn the camcorder on, press and hold

The camcorder will automatically check to see if a memory card has been loaded.
