CHUCKREMOVAL

The chuck mustbe removed in order touse some
accessodes. Toremove:
Lock the switchtdgger by placing the direction of
rotation selector incenter position,
Insert a5/16inchorlargerallenwmnch(haxkey
wrench) intcthechuck ofyourdrilland tightentha
chuck jaws securely.
Tapthe a,an wretch sharply with a mallet in a
c_ockwise direction. See Figure 11. This will
loosen the screw inthe chuck for easy removal

Open chuckjaws andremove allen wrench.
Remove thechuck screw byturning dina clock-
wise direction. See Figure 12,Note: The screw
has loft hand threads,
Insert allen wrench in chuck andtighten chuck
jaws securely. Tap sharply with amallet in a
counterclockwise direction. This will loosen chuck
onthe spindle, ncan now beunscrewed by hand.

TO RETIGHTEN A LOOSE CHUCK
The chuck may become loose on spindle and develop
a wobble. Also, thechuck screwmay become loose
causing the chuck jaws tobind and prevent them from
closing. To tighten, follow these steps:
Lockthe switchtdgger byplacing thedirection of
rotetion selector incenter position.
Insert allen wrench intochuck and tightenchuck
jaws securely, Tap allen wrenchsharply witha
mallet in a clockwisedirection, This willtighten
chuck on the spindle,
Open the chuck jaws and remove allen wrench.

has left hand threads.
