1. Turnoff the system, including any attachedperipherals, and disconnect the sys-
tem from its electrica l outlet.

2. Remove the computer cover.

3. Check all the boardand card connections in the computer.
4. Verify all internalcable and component connections.
Makesure that all cables are properly connected and that all components are
properlyseated in their connectors and sockets.
5. Replace the computer coverand reconnect the system to the electrical outlet.
6. Run the System Set test group in the Dell Diagnostics.

Troubleshooting the Battery
Ifan error message indicates a problem with the battery,or if the System Setup pro-
gramloses the system configurationinformation when the computer isturned off, the
batterymay be defective.
Followthese steps to troubleshoot the battery:
