4. Check the connection of the coin cell batteryto t he systemboard.
Isthe battery firmly installed in the battery socketon the system board?
Yes . Go to step 6.
No.G o to step 5.
5. Reseat the battery in its socket.
Isthe problem resolved?
Yes . Thebattery was loose. Youhave fixed the problem.
No.Continue with this procedure.
6. Replace the battery.
SeeReplacing the System Battery,in Chapter 8, for instructionson replacing
thebattery.
Isthe problem resolved?
Yes . Thebattery's charge was low.You have fixed thepr oblem.
No.See Chapter 10, Getting Help,for instructionson obtaining technical
assistance.
7. Reinstall the expansion cards removed instep 3, if applicable.
8. Replace the system cover,and reconnect the system to the electrical outlet.
Troubleshooting the Power Supply
Thesystem contains one 330-watt power supplythat can be rotated up to provide
accessto the system board (see Figure 7-6).

Troubleshooting Power Cable Connections

Followthese steps to troubleshoot power cableconnections:
1. Check the power outlet andpower cable (see Chapter 2, CheckingConnections
andSwitches).
2. Turn off the system,including any attached peripherals,and disconnect all the
powercables from the electrical outlets.
WARNING
There is a danger of a new battery exploding if it is incorrectlyinstalled.
Replacet he batteryonly with the same or equivalent type recommended by
the manufacturer.Discard used batteries according to the manufacturer's
instructions.
