Noudata lisäksi seuraavia turvaohjeita:

•Välttääksesi tietokoneen oikosulun irrottaessasi verkkokaapelia, irrota kaapeli ensin verkkokäyttöliittymäohjaimesta (NIC) tietokoneen takaosasta ja sitten verkon seinäpistorasiasta. Kun liität verkkokaapelin takaisin tietokoneeseen, kytke se ensin verkkopistorasiaan ja sen jälkeen verkkokäyttöliittymäohjaimeen.

•Kun irrotat kaapelin, vedä sen liittimestä tai vetosilmukasta, älä itse kaapelista. Joissakin kaapeleissa on lukkiutuva pistoke/liitin; jos irrotat tämäntyyppistä kaapelia, paina lukitussalvat sisään ennen kaapelin irrottamista. Kun vedät liittimet erilleen, pidä ne suorassa liitinpiikkien vääntymisen estämiseksi. Varmista samoin ennen kaapelin kytkemistä, että molemmat liittimet ovat oikein kohdistettuja ja samansuuntaisia.

•Käsittele komponentteja ja kortteja varoen. Älä kosketa komponentteja äläkä korttien koskettimia. Käsittele kortteja reunoista tai metallikiinnikkeistä. Käsittele mikropiiriä reunoista, ei sen nastoista.
