This reminder is provide d to call your attention to ar ticles 810 and 820 of the 2002 N ational Electrical C ode. Refer to article 810, in par ticular 810-1 and 810-15, for
required grounding of th e metal structure of the dis h antenna. Refer also to the 810-2 w hich, by reference to artic le 820, requires that the s atellite dish coaxia l cable
shield be connected to th e grounding system of the bui lding as close to the point of c able entry as practic al.

Note to Satellite Dish Installer

CAUTION: Avoid moisture to reduce the risk of fi re or electric shock.  e DI RECTV Recei ver should not be used near water
(for example, kitchen sink, b athtub, pool, damp baseme nt). Also, never spill liquid on the r eceiver, and do not place vases or
other vessels contain ing liquid on top of it.
Ensure proper ventilation — the vent slots on the DIR ECTV Receive r must be left uncovered to al low proper airfl ow to the
unit. Blocking the a irfl ow to the unit could impair performance or d amage your receiver a nd other components.
Do not stack electronic components or other objec ts on top of the DIRECT V Receiver. Also, do not sta ck the receiver on top
of a “hot component” such as an audio p ower amplifi er.
Protect your components from power surges by con necting all the c omponents before plugging a ny power cords into the wall
outlet. Use of a surge protector is a lso recommended.
Don’t overload power outlets or extension cords, which c an result in the risk of fi re or shock. It’s also importa nt to use only the
type of power source ind icated on the markin g label or in this manu al.

Place it on a fl a t, hard surface — do not oper ate the DIRECT V Receiver on a carpet or ot her padded surface.
Always unplug your DIRECT V Receiver before movin g it.
Always unplug the DIRECT V Receiver, TV and other equ ipment before you connect or disc onnect any cables.
Leave the main power connector acc essible the mains conne ctor at the back of the unit in c ase of emergency shutdown
CAUTION: Electric Shock — never attempt to d isassemble the DIR ECTV Receiver you rself; always ta ke it to a qualifi ed service person when repai r is required. Opening
or removing covers may expos e dangerous voltage or othe r risks, and incorrec t reassembly can ca use shock when receiver is su bsequently used. Attempted self-repair may
