Note
If your TV only has one audi o input jack use AUDIO L (whi te) jack on the back of the DIRECT V Receiver to make
the connection.
Making the Audio Connections
Best: If you connected your DIREC TV HD Receiver to your TV with HDMI cables you do not need
to make a separate audio connection, un less you would like to use other audio outputs; for example, if
you want to connect your DIRECT V HD Receiver to a stereo or home theater system. Note: HDMI
cable is not included with the DIRECT V HD Receiver.
Best 2: You may also receive digta l audio by connecting an Optical Audio c able from the DIGITAL
AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) jack on your DIRECT V HD Receiver to a DIGITAL AUDIO IN
(OPTICAL) jack on your TV.  is output can also be used if you wis h to listen to audio on a stereo
or home theater system, even if you are already u sing an HDMI cable for audio on your TV. Note:
Optical Audio cable is not included with the DIR ECTV HD Receiver.
Good: For analog audio, connect the white (L) and red (R ) RCA-type cables from the DIRECT V
HD Receiver to your TV.
