5) Highlight the System Test tab and press SELECT, then press SELECT on Run Test.
6) If your sys tem does not pass the system test, check any of thes e potential trouble areas: cabling, pointin g the
satellite dish, phone connection and access card.
7) If you continue to have problems, c all DIRECTV Customer Ser vice at 1-800-DIRECT V.
You should run a system test several times before c oncluding that there is a problem. Occasional fl uctuations in the
phone line or satellite signal can give temporar y false readings.
Factory Def aults
To reset all the remote control and clear all but DIRECT V mode, follow these steps:
1) Point the remote away from your DIRECTV Re ceiver and components. Press and hold M UTE and SELECT
until the light above the slide switch on the remote fl ashes twice (about 5 seconds).
2) Enter 9-8-1.  e light on the remote will fl ash twice, indicating you have cleared AV1, AV2 and TV modes.
If you get a bunch of new equipment (lucky you!),
you may find it useful to reset your remote before
you re-program it.
