If your printer icon doesn’t appear in the Chooser (Macintosh) . . .

Your Macintosh has extension conflicts. Disable Quick Draw GX in the Extensions Manager. Make sure EPSON Monitor3 and

SC 900 are enabled, and then restart your Macintosh.

You may have too many items in the Chooser. Delete any unused items and check the Chooser again.

If you can’t install the USB Printer Device driver for Windows 98 . . .

Make sure your computer is a Windows 98 USB pre-installed model.

Make sure that the Universal Serial Bus Controller is working properly in the Device Manager. For details, see your computer documentation. If it is not working properly, contact your computer dealer.

Make sure you’re using a recommended USB cable as described on page 4.

If you use a USB hub, connect the printer to the first tier of the hub, or connect the printer to the computer’s USB port directly.

If you want to verify your USB software installation on Windows 98 . . .

Check the Device Manger: Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel. Then double-clickSystem and click the Device Manager tab. You should see the device EPSON USB Printer Devices listed. Click the + next to the device; you should see EPSON USB Printer (EPUSB:1) listed.

If you can’t see the ink level gauge when you print in Windows . . .

Make sure you installed Status Monitor 2. If you didn’t, uninstall your printer software, then reinstall it, making sure you choose to install Status Monitor 2. See page 67 for instructions on uninstalling your printer software. Once you’ve installed Status Monitor 2, make sure background monitoring is turned on. See your electronic EPSON Stylus COLOR 900 Manual for details on Status Monitor 2. (Status Monitor 2 is not available for Windows 3.1.)
