Before you connect the cables, take a look at the rear and front panels of the main unit.

The rear panel

Look at the rear panel to identify the Equity I+ input/output ports. Figure 1-2 shows where you connect the peripheral devices.

WARNING: Do not connect the power cord until you have connected all peripheral devices. Always check to see that the power switch is off before you connect or disconnect any peripherals.

Here are brief descriptions of each of the ports:

AC power outlet. Auxiliary power outlet. Some monitors (and other types of peripherals) can be plugged into the main unit here, instead of a wall outlet. The main unit’s power switch controls the monitor or peripheral connected to this outlet. Power consumption should not exceed 80 watts.

AC power inlet. Supplies electrical power to the computer. Always turn the power switch off before you plug the power cord into an outlet.
