Turning video on and off
Use the VIDEO ON/OFF button to turn video output to the television (monitor) on and off. It is not necessary to turn video off, but you may notice a slight improvement in audio quality if you turn off the video when playing back SACD discs and CDs without video images.
Note that this setting is not memorized when the power is turned off.

The main unit can accept and synchronize to the following |

frequencies received from external devices: |

44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, 96kHz, 100kHz, 176.4kHz, |

192kHz as well as frequencies which are 96% of these |

values, in the 4% DOWN mode. |

Note that the sync connection should be made before the |
| |
CLOCK MODE button is pressed. If no valid word sync signal |
| |
is received, the display shows “No Word!”. |

4% DOWN mode
This allows a 4% reduction in frame rate. PAL video plays back at 25 frames per second (fps), but movies are shot at 24fps. This mode helps to resolve the discrepancy by allowing an external clock source at 4% less than standard to be received. The external clock source should be set to this 4% frequency reduction (called “PAL FILM” on the
Press and hold the CLOCK MODE button on the main unit for three seconds or more to enter this mode.
The ring surrounding the button lights orange. Pressing this button again turns off the word sync.
Note that the signals from the
