b) The bend in the dr ive lever linkages should be positioned downward and
slightly outward. I f adjustm ent is needed, loosen jam nut below balljoint and
rotate linkage. Tighten jam nut.
Shift t ransmission lever to fifth gear. Insure t hat bend in r ight hand linkage is
rotated out ward enoug h that linkag e clear s shifter lever.
If linkage is rotated too far out, ball j oint may bind when drive lever is released
into the “dr ive” position. Insure that t his does not happen.

c) Adjust brakes by adjusting wingnut on the upper end of each brake r od.
Tight en the wingnut until the brakes engage when the drive levers are
squeezed enough allow the neutral lock/park br ake latches to be placed int o
the “park brake” posit ion. See Figure 7.
d) Check for correct adj ustment:
Place the drive levers in the “park brake” posit ion. The mower should not
move forward or backward. If it does, tighten t he wingnuts.
Place the drive levers in the “neutral lock” position. The mower should
move forward and back ward freely. If it does not, loosen the wingnuts.
NOTE: The neutral lock/park brake latches must be easily moved into the
park brake position; i f not the brake linkages must be adjust ed agai n.
