Matrix 12800 Operation, cont’d

Starting Up the Controller and Logging In and Out

Use the FPC to control the matrix as follows:

1.

Ensure that all BMEs that are part of the system have been connected to each

 

other and their BME numbers have been set correctly (refer to the Matrix

 

12800 Wideband, Sync, or Audio Switchers User’s Manual, part #68-556-01).

If necessary, on the rear of the FPC, toggle the Power switch to the on (

 

)

 

 

position. After approximately 2 minutes, the LCD touch panel displays the

FPC startup screen (figure 3-4). Observe the message **NOT Logged On** in the upper right corner of the blue field.

The FPC 5000 LCD has an optional screen saver function that blanks the screen after 5 minutes. Touch on the screen to wake up the controller. See Miscellaneous screen, in this chapter, to disable the screen saver.

3.

Touch the Log On button.

The IP Connection screen appears (figure 3-5).

4.

Decide whether you need to edit the FPC 5000’s IP Address and Subnet Mask

 

fields (see the guidelines below). If you need to edit the fields, proceed to

 

step 5. If you do not need to need to edit the fields, proceed to step 6.
