To edit an existing user:

1.Click the radio button beside the user to edit and click “Edit”. For Windows and OS X users, the page shown in Figure 3-7 will be displayed. Only the password used to access the shared folders can be changed, but not the user name. This change will not affect current connections, but will take effect the next time someone tries to connect to a shared folder.

2.For Linux and other Mac users, the page shown in Figure 3-8 will be displayed. The IP address or computer name can be changed, but not the computer description. Changing this information immediately disconnects that computer from the shared folders.

To remove an existing user:

Click the radio button beside the user to remove and click “Remove”. When prompted to confirm the removal, click “Yes”.

Warning: When removing a Windows/OS X user, that user’s personal (home) folder is automatically deleted. It is recommended that the user copy any data from this folder to another location to ensure that it is not lost before removing the user.

3.4Groups

Windows and OS X users can be put into groups, which makes it easier to give several users access to the same shared folder at once.

When you click “Users” in the main menu and click “Groups” in the left menu, the page displays a list of all currently configured groups (Figure 3-9). When you select a group in the Groups list, the members of that group appear in the adjacent Members list.
