Problem	Solution
	• The zoom ring (ON/OFF switch) is not correctly rotated: Rotate the zoom ring to STANDBY
	and then rotate the zoom ring again to the point between 25 and 100 (P20).
The camera does not	• The battery is exhausted: Charge the battery or insert a fully-charged spare battery (P13).
	• The battery is inserted incorrectly: Reinsert in the correct orientation (P15).

	• The battery-chamber cover is not latched: Latch the battery-chamber cover (P15).
	• The AC power adapter and DC coupler are connected incorrectly: Reconnect the AC power
	adapter and DC coupler.
	• The battery is cold: Warm the battery by placing it in a pocket or other warm place and reinsert
	it in the camera immediately before taking a picture.
	• There is dirt on the battery terminals: Clean the terminals with a soft, dry cloth.
	• oCLEAR DISPLAY is selected for ZPOWER MANAGEMENT > POWER
	MANAGEMENT: Select nPOWER SAVE to reduce the drain on the battery (P126).
The battery runs down	• ON is selected for ASCREEN SET-UP > MONITOR SUNLIGHT MODE: Select
quickly.	OFF to reduce the drain on the battery (P8).
	• Ris selected for shooting mode: Select Bmode to reduce the drain on the battery (P30).
	• uCONTINUOUS or xTRACKING is selected for FFOCUS MODE: Select a
	different AF mode (P62).
	• The battery has been charged many times: The battery has reached the end of its charging
	life. Purchase a new battery.
The camera turns off	• The battery is exhausted: Charge the battery or insert a fully-charged spare battery (P13).
	• The AC power adapter or DC coupler has been disconnected: Reconnect the AC power
suddenly.
