AF-assist illuminator

Use this illuminator to focus on the subject in dimly lit conditions.

When pressing the shutter button down halfway, the camera fires the AF-assist illuminator (green) while focusing on your subject.

Even when the AF-assist illuminator fires, the camera may have difficulty focusing in some conditions.

The camera focuses most easily when a picture is taken at a distance of around 4.5 m (14.8 ft.) with wide-angle and 2.0 m (6.6 ft.) with telephoto.

Even though there is no danger to safety, do not expose it directly in someone’s eyes.

When using the AF-assist illuminator in Macro mode, the camera may have difficulty focusing to take close- up shots.

Turn the zoom ring to take pictures with zoom function. The zoom bar appears on the screen during zooming.
