All system settings are recorded locally in “Settings” files. These f iles are updated ea ch time a
setting is modified an d automatically updated every 30 minutes.
NOTE: Both CPUs must have the same configuration and settings at all times, otherwise
unpredictable system behavior could occur. Every 30 minutes the system compares the
settings between the CPUs. If a mismatch in setting s between CPUs does occur, an event will be
generated. A mismatch should be correctly immediately.

8.1 Offline mode

The HMI has a special offline mode. Offline mode disconnects the HMI from a live system and
allows users to modify and save settings. Later, once reconnected to a live system, these saved
settings can be written to the syst em.
The following operations are permitted in offline mode:
User Settings activities
Maintenance activities
User Administration
Another convenience offline mo de provides is the ability t o work on protection settings prior t o
the arrival of the switchgear. See Commissioning the switchgear onpage 11 for more details.
