Cambio del nivel de potencia del microondas.

El nivel de potencia puede ingresarse o cambiarse inmediatamente después de ingresar el tiempo para Time Cook, Time Defrost o Express Cook. El nivel de potencia también puede cambiarse durante la cuenta regresiva del tiempo.

Para cambiar el nivel de potencia…

Presione el botón Time Cook.

Ingrese el tiempo de cocción.

Presione el botón Power Level.

Seleccione el nivel de potencia deseado 1 a 10.

Presione el botón Start/Pause.

Los distintos niveles de potencia añaden flexibilidad a la cocción con microondas. Los niveles de potencia en el horno microondas pueden compararse con las unidades de superficie sobre una cocina. Cada nivel de potencia le brinda a su horno microondas energía un cierto porcentaje del tiempo.

■El nivel de potencia 7 es energía de microondas el 70% del tiempo.

■El nivel de potencia 3 es energía el 30% del tiempo.

■La mayoría de la cocción se hará en Alto (nivel de potencia 10) lo que le da 100% de la potencia. El nivel de potencia 10 cocinará más rápido pero es posible que los alimentos necesiten un movimiento, rotación o giro más frecuente.

Una configuración más baja cocinará más uniformemente y se necesitará menos movimiento o rotación de los alimentos. Algunos alimentos pueden tener un mejor sabor, textura o apariencia si

se utiliza una de las configuraciones inferiores. Utilice un nivel de potencia inferior cuando cocine alimentos que tengan tendencia a hervir, como las papas gratinadas.

Permita plazos de descanso (cuando los ciclos de energía de microondas se apaguen) para que los alimentos “balanceen” o transfieran el calor a su interior. Un ejemplo de esto se muestra con el nivel de potencia 3: el ciclo de descongelamiento. Si el ciclo de energía de microondas no se apaga, el exterior de los alimentos se cocinará antes de que el interior se descongele.

Aquí se presentan algunos ejemplos de los usos para los distintos niveles de potencia:

■Alto 10: pescado, tocino, verduras, hervir líquidos.

■Medio a Alto 7: cocción suave de carne roja y de ave; cacerolas para hornear y recalentar.

■Medio 5: cocción lenta y ablandamiento para estofados y cortes menos blandos de carne.

■Bajo 2 ó 3: escongelamiento; hervir a fuego lento; salsas delicadas.

■Calentar 1: mantener la comida caliente; ablandar la mantequilla.
