SECTION 7: CLEANING/SANITIZING
Always be as thorough as possible when cleaning and sanitizing your meat cutting bandsaw components. Any parts that have been exposed to raw meat or bone may harbor or develop bacte- ria that may cause illness or death if left uncleaned.
Cleaning the bandsaw while it is plugged in may cause severe electrical shock! Always discon- nect the power before attempting any cleaning or maintenance opera- tions, and after cleaning, never connect the band- saw to a power source until it dry. Failure to fol- low this warning may result in severe injury or even death.
When cleaning with sani- tizers, always follow the recommendations on the manufacturer’s label, and make sure that the product will do the job for which you intend. Never use a product that will cause exposed surfaces to ren- der meat unsafe for human consumption. Failure to follow this warning may lead to sickness or death!
Cleaning The Saw
To clean your bandsaw after use:
1.Remove the table, the blade guards, the fences, and the meat grinder (Figure 36).
2.If used, disassemble meat grinder as shown in Figure 37.
