11 Finishing

A. Mantel Projections

This appliance is approved to be installed with a clearance to the ceiling and/or other projections of 12 inch minimum from the top of the fireplace (see Figure 11.1).

B. Facing Material

WARNING

Fire Risk.

Do NOT obstruct air inlet or outlet grilles. Do NOT modify grilles.

• Modifying or covering grilles could cause temperature rise and fire hazard.

Finishing materials must not interfere with:

Air flow through grilles or louvers.

Operation of louvers or doors.

Access for service.

Sheetrock or other finishing materials can be brought to within 1-1/2 inch of top of fireplace and to within 0 inches on the sides and bottom.

WARNING

Fire Risk.

Finish all edges and fronts to clearances and specifications listed in manual.

Install combustible materials only up to specified clearances on top, front and side.

Seal joints between the finished wall and appliance top and sides using only a 300º F minimum sealant.
