This configuration gives you optional use of the optical bypass switch (page 1-19) to prevent ring wrap if an FDDI circuit becomes non-opera- tional.

1.Attach port ‘‘A’’ of the router to port ‘‘B’’ of an adjacent DAS.

2.Attach port ‘‘B’’ of the router to port ‘‘A’’ of another DAS.
