Taking self-timer pictures

In Self-Timermode, the camera locks automatic exposure and focus and then takes the picture 10 seconds later. To use Self-Timermode:

1Secure the camera to a tripod or set it on a stable surface.

2Select Self-Timer on the Capture Mode selector.

ON/OFF

3Frame the subject you want to photograph, then press the Shutter button all the way down. The Self-Timerlight on the front of the camera as well as the red Viewfinder light on the back blinks for 10 seconds before the picture is taken.

Recording audio

To record audio with still pictures, you must first turn on Audio Record in the Setup menu (the camera is shipped with Audio Record turned off). See “Adjusting camera settings” on page 49.

To record audio with a picture:

1Press the Shutter button half-way down to begin audio recording (focus and exposure also lock).

2Press the Shutter button all the way down to take the picture.

3Continue to hold the Shutter button down until you are finished recording audio (up to 30 seconds or until the memory card is full).
