Migration refers to the process of converting an existing EVM V1.x network to an EVM V2.0D network. Once the migration begins, it must be completed successfully the first time through to prevent unnecessary downtime.

NOTE: Migration considerations are applicable only to HP Tru64 UNIX, Sun Solaris, Windows 2000, and Windows NT hosts. Disregard this chapter for any other supported host operating system.

Effects of Stopping EVM Activities

Stopping either the EVM server or an EVM client can affect the EVM network and EVM jobs. Consider the following when planning to migrate your current EVM network to EVM V2.0D:

Stopping the EVM server stops any EVM job running in the EVM network.

Stopping the EVM server stops all browser access to the EVM network.

Stopping an EVM client service or daemon stops any EVM job involving that computer.
