Windows 2000/NT 4.0

1.From the Windows NT desktop, select Start, Programs, HP JetAdmin Utilities, then click Add HP JetDirect Printer.

2.Select Easy Setup, then click Next.

3.If you want to choose a device from a list of printers on the network, do one of the following:

click TCP/IP or IPX/SPX, click Printer List, to select the printer from the list, then click OK.

-or -

manually specify the printer by selecting the appropriate field and typing the information.

Then click Next.

4.A message appears indicating you have successfully created a new port and displays its name. Remember this name for future reference and click OK.

For Windows 2000, select Local Printer since the path has already been created.

5.Select the port created in Step 4 and click Next.

6.Select HP in the Manufacturers column, then select the appropriate printer model in the Printers column.

7.Click Next.

8.Type the name of the printer. This is the name that shows up in your Printers folder.

9.Click Yes if you want Windows-based programs to use this printer as the default printer, then click Next.
