Troubleshooting
Refer to this section if you have viewing, picture, sound, remote, or startup problems with your TV.
Startup questions
Startup symptom | Remedy |

|
|
I do not hear sound at | ■ Is the volume too low? Press the Volume button. |
|
even though there is an image. | ■ Is mute turned on? Press the Mute button or the Volume button. |
|
| ■ Is an external sound system connected and turned on? Are the |
|
| speakers turned off in the OSD Option menu? (See the Output Select |
|
| option in “Using the Option Menu” on page 54.) |
|
|
|
|
I do not see an image at | ■ Are the connections to the input signal source component correct? |
|
|
| |
| connectors. |
|
| ■ Is the input source powered on? Turn on the |
|
| or other component you are trying to view. |
|
| ■ Is the correct input signal source selected? Press the Source button on |
|
| the remote control and confirm the source is selected. |
|
| ■ Press the Setup button on the remote control. |
|
| ■ If the OSD appears, check the cables to the input source, and |
|
| press the Source button on the remote control to choose the input |
|
| source. |
|
| ■ If the OSD does not display, see the next symptom, “There is no |
|
| power.” |
|
|
|
|
There is no power. | ■ Press the Power button on the remote control unit. |
|
| ■ If the indicator on the TV is off, press the Power button on the TV. |
|
| ■ Is the AC cord disconnected? Make sure both ends of the power cord |
|
| are plugged in. (See “Connecting power to the TV” on page 18.) |
|
| ■ Is the MediaSmart C cable loose or disconnected? Make sure both |
|
| ends are securely inserted. (See “Connecting MediaSmart cables” | Troubleshooting |
| on page 8.) | |
|
| |
| ■ Is there power coming from the outlet? Plug in a functional lamp or |
|
| other electrical device into the same outlet as the TV to make sure |
|
| there is power coming from the outlet. |
|
| ■ If using a power strip, make sure it is turned on. |
|
|
|
|
The unit cannot be operated. | ■ External influences such as lightning and static electricity may cause |
|
| improper operation. In this case, operate the unit after first turning on |
|
| the power of the TV or unplugging the AC cord and replugging it in |
|
| after 1 or 2 minutes. |
