Problems and Solutions

Verify that an Ethernet LAN adapter is selected in the Network Properties window of your operating system.

If you are using a software or hardware firewall, make sure that it is properly configured.

Some network resources are not available

Verify that you have logged onto the network with the credentials required to access the resources. For credential and logon information, contact your network administrator.

Verify that the application you are using, for example, your email or Web browser application, is functioning properly.

To determine whether your notebook must be a member of a Windows domain in order to use the resources, contact your network administrator.

Network connection is slow

Verify that your network adapter is configured for the speed and duplex required by your network. For information about the requirements of your network, contact your network administrator.

No computers found in Network

Neighborhood or Network Places

Verify the network adapter connection to the network.

If you are part of a Windows workgroup, verify that the workgroup name is correct.

If you are part of a Windows domain, verify that the domain name is correct and that you are logged into the correct domain.
