MAINTENANCE
Maintenanceschedule
Below you will find some general mainte-
nance instructions.

Dailymaintenance

SCheck throttle trigger and throttle trigger
lockout function.
SCheckthatthestopswitchworks
correctly.
SCheck that there are no fuel leaks from
the engine, tank or fuel lines.
SCheck that the cutter does not rotate
when the engine is idling.
SClean the outside of the machine.
SCheck that the harness is not damaged.
SCheck that the cutting attachment guard
is not damaged or cracked.
SReplace the guard if it is exposed to im-
pact or is cracked.
SA non--balancedtrimmer head induces
heavy vibrations that may damage the
machine.
SCheck that nuts and screws are tight.
SCheck that the screws that hold the bevel
gear are tight.
SCheck that the trimmer head is tight.

Weeklymaintenance

SCheck the starter and starter cord.
SClean the carburetor area.
SClean the outside of the spark plug. Re-
move it and check the electrode gap. Ad-
just the gap to 0.024″(0.6 mm),or
replace the spark plug. Use resistor spark
plug Champion RCJ--6Yor equivalent .
SClean the cooling fins on the cylinder and
check that the air intake near the starter
is not blocked.
SCheck that the bevel gear is filled with
grease up to 3/4 full. Use special grease.
SClean the air filter.

Monthlymaintenance

SClean the fuel tank.
SClean the outside of the carburetor and
the space around it.
SClean the fan and the area around it.
SCheck fuel lines for cracks or other dam-
age. Change if necessary.
SChange the fuel filter in fuel tank.
SCheck the clutch, clutch springs and the
clutch drum for wear. Replace if neces-
sary.
SCheck electrical wires and connections .
SReplace the spark plug. Use resistor
spark plug Champion RCJ--6Y or equiva-
lent.
SChange the air filter.
Thegr ease in the bevel gear does not nor-
mally need to be changed except if repairs
are carried out.
Bevel gear (128LD)
Thebev el gear is filled with the right quantity
of grease at the factory. However, before
using the machine you should check
that the bevel gear is filled three--quarters
full with grease. Use HUSQVARNA special
grease.
